An Early Christmas in Wiltshire

Thursday, December 18

At the start of December i had an early taste of Christmas. Since it was the only weekend Emily and I were both free to see each other before Dec 25th, we decided to have an early celebration in which we exchange gifts and live like we did in the summer. We were once again incredibly blessed to stay in the cottage. I think Emily and I both feel like it is our very own home away from home and we are incredibly thankful to the family who live here for allowing us to stay.

We weren't alone this time, we not only got to spend it with three silly puppies but also two amazing young humans too! Bath Christmas market was our Saturday evening event of choice. The city shattered with huts filled with Christmassy goodness and treats. Fairy lights everywhere and the smell of roasted chestnuts in the air.

On Sunday morning we awoke from our slumber and set about making breakfast for the household. Sausages, toast, cups of tea and some pretty awesome pancakes (if i do say so myself!) cooked up on the Aga over the watchful eyes of one very hungry terrier. Every time i visit this beautiful place it feels like reality doesn't exist, almost as if we are away from the outside world and everything slows down. I simply can't wait for the day i can have my own little slice of this part of the world, in my very own country cottage.
