Heckington Show

Wednesday, August 6

I'm a little behind on my posts at the moment. So much has been happening in my world that I haven't been able to sit and update you all like I would normally, so i'll first say thank you for sticking it out! A few weeks ago it was Heckington Show, which is the largest village show in England. Heckington show has been running for 147 years and to us, is always cause of a celebration.

After spending time wondering around the show, eating fish and chips and enjoying everything that was going on, we head over to a friend of ours house to watch the fire works in the evening. I don't think there is a much better way to spend a summer weekend than with a country show and garden party.

The show is full of trade stands, horticulture, dog shows, donkey shows, show jumping, vintage machinery, and livestock. Pretty much everything you can think of and associate with a typical quintessential English country show. Next year the show is on the 25th and 26th of July and if you stay till late, the firework show and open air concert is always something you don't want to miss out on!
