Shetland pony grand national

Friday, May 16

Before the cross country kicked off on Saturday, Baminton horse trails put on the funniest thing i have seen for a good while. The Shetland pony grand national! Now i appreciate this is probably one of those 'you had to be there' moments but watching these little kids gallop round the track and haul themselves over the jumps was bot adorably cute and hilarious.

The Shetlands even behaved like real racehorses as they trotted up. They were fizzy and raring to go enough to rival any thoroughbred! The children gave their cheeky little interviews about not listening to their older siblings and then they were off. One fell off, he was fine, but the pony decided to run the wrong way round the course even jumping a few sans rider. Trying to catch him while the others where still galloping was quite eventful and a near head on collision caused gasps from the crowd.

If you ever go to Badminton, do please go and watch. It really is worth it, and although it's fun, these kids are qualifying for horse of the year show if they win, so make sure you cheer them on.

2 note(s)..:

  1. I always love the Shetland Grand National! It is quite possibly the most adorable and hilarious thing about horse events!
