Summer evenings

Wednesday, July 3

On Sunday evening i finished my weekend off basking in the sunshine and eating summer food out in the garden, washed down with a jug of Pimms. The weather was crazily warm even into the late evening so after dinner we quickly cleared away before heading back outside for a read on the loungers.

Grizzle played with his duck (which now looks a little more like roadkill) tossing it in the air and spinning round until he would get too warm and lay in the shade under the table for a few minutes. Mum moaned that the pimms was too strong while trying to top it up with lemonade and i just enjoyed feeling the sun on my face sans makeup and the grass between my toes.

Only when the wind started to pick up and i felt that familiar chill in the air did i retire inside to draw a bath and finish the night in bed lost in a book world. Perfect.

Warm summer evenings should be greeted like an old friend you know you might not see for a while but they are oh so good to you when you do that you love them anyway, and all absents of them is forgotten.

  2. Grizzle is so cute! I just had to buy Teddy a new soft toy 'lovie' today, because he'd eaten his old one completely! This one won't last long either, I'm sure! Glad you had a lovely evening :) xxx

    1. Grizzle plays favourites with his teddies. He will rip the squeaker from them as soon as he can then plays with the rest once all the fluff has gone or he's bored of them. The duck toys always last the longest and he sits and sucks parts of them until they fall off like a baby haha! This duck lost it's leg this week lol. xxx

  3. Adore your beautiful doggie - Border Terrier? We have a little Border called Ted and he is lethal, has us all wrapped around his paw :-)
